Standard B2B overhang is 3mm — the lid sits 3mm lower than the base rim for a snug, premium fit. Retail display boxes often use 5mm for easier opening. Jewelry boxes use 1-2mm for a tight, high-end closure. We match the overhang to your specific use case.
Lid and base boxes are pre-assembled (set-up boxes) — they cannot be folded flat. This means higher shipping volume versus folding magnetic boxes. For cost-sensitive orders, we recommend nesting 5-8 boxes inside each other to reduce volume by 30-40%.
For cosmetics, we recommend EVA foam die-cut to product shape or vacuum-formed plastic trays inside the box. Both options secure products during transit and create an elevated unboxing experience. Velvet-lined bases work well for fragrance bottles.
